"Ya no estoy aquí" follows Ulises, a teenage street dancer from Monterrey who belongs to a tight-knit gang defined by a distinctive code, slang, and a raw, kinetic music culture. After a violent incident forces him to flee to New York, he confronts unfamiliar streets, language barriers, and new social codes as he struggles to survive while trying to preserve his identity and the sound that anchors him. Director Fernando Frías de la Parra crafts a vivid, intimate portrait of belonging, memory, and the price of staying true to one's roots.
