American Factory chronicles the clash of two corporate cultures when Chinese automotive-glass maker Fuyao opens a factory in a shuttered General Motors plant in Moraine, Ohio. The film follows a diverse mix of American workers and Chinese managers as they negotiate wages, safety, and job security while navigating language barriers and different work philosophies. Through intimate interviews and observational cinema, the documentary probes globalization’s impact on communities, labor, and identity in contemporary industrial America.
