Robert Longo
An American artist and filmmaker born in 1953, he emerged from the New York art scene of the late 1970s. Originally gaining fame for his "Men in the Cities" series, his work often explores themes of power and aggression. He made his directorial debut with "Johnny Mnemonic" in 1995, a cyberpunk film based on William Gibson's short story. Though primarily known for his visual art, he continues to influence both the art and film worlds with his distinctive style and critical perspective.
