Nuri Bilge Ceylan
Born in Istanbul in 1959, he is a celebrated Turkish filmmaker known for his visually stunning and contemplative cinema. He studied electrical engineering at Boğaziçi University before turning to photography and later film. His work often explores themes of existentialism, family, and the human condition, set against the backdrop of Turkey's diverse landscapes. Acclaimed films such as "Once Upon a Time in Anatolia" and "Winter Sleep" have earned him multiple awards, including the prestigious Palme d'Or at Cannes.
