Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck
A German film director and screenwriter, he gained international acclaim with his debut feature, "The Lives of Others" (2006), which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Born in 1973, he studied at the University of Oxford and the University of Television and Film Munich. Known for his meticulous storytelling and exploration of themes like surveillance and morality, he also directed "The Tourist" (2010) and "Never Look Away" (2018), the latter earning an Oscar nomination.
