J.A. Bayona
Born in Barcelona in 1975, he is a Spanish film director known for his work in both Spanish and international cinema. He gained recognition with his debut feature, "The Orphanage" (2007), which was a critical and commercial success. He went on to direct "The Impossible" (2012), a gripping portrayal of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, and "A Monster Calls" (2016), a fantasy drama.
