Born on October 17, 1957, in Bellerose, New York, he is an American actor and former professional tennis player. The son of actor Dick Van Patten, he began his career as a child actor, appearing in numerous television shows during the 1970s. He gained fame for his role in the TV series "Apple's Way" and the film "Rock 'n' Roll High School." Beyond acting, he found success in tennis, reaching a career-high singles ranking of World No. 26. He is also known as a commentator for the World Poker Tour.
