American actor born on May 21, 1945, in Santa Monica, California. He gained fame for his role as Captain Apollo in the original "Battlestar Galactica" TV series (1978-1979). Earlier, he starred in the soap opera "All My Children" and the series "The Streets of San Francisco." Beyond acting, he was a dedicated teacher and wrote several novels set in the "Battlestar Galactica" universe. He continued to be involved with the franchise until his passing on February 7, 2017.
