Born in Paris, she is a French-American actress, director, and screenwriter. She began acting as a child and gained recognition for her role in "Europa Europa" (1990). She achieved international fame with "Before Sunrise" (1995) and its sequels, co-writing the latter two which earned her Academy Award nominations.
