Born on October 31, 1942, he was an American actor best known for his role as Major Charles Emerson Winchester III on the television series M*A*S*H. He began his career in theater, joining the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and later transitioned to television and film. He also lent his voice to numerous animated films, including Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" and "Pocahontas." A talented musician, he conducted orchestras across the U.S. He passed away on March 3, 2018.
