The Half of It is a coming-of-age film that tells the story of Ellie Chu, a shy and introverted high school student in the small town of Squahamish. Ellie makes extra money writing homework papers for her classmates. One day, she is approached by Paul Munsky, a sweet but inarticulate jock, who asks her to write a love letter to Aster Flores, the girl of his dreams. As Ellie helps Paul woo Aster, she unexpectedly finds herself falling for Aster as well, leading to a complex love triangle.
