Misery is a 1990 American psychological horror thriller film based on Stephen King's 1987 novel of the same name. The story follows an obsessed fan who holds her favorite author captive and forces him to write a new novel to her liking. As the author's captivity becomes increasingly nightmarish, a tense battle of wills ensues between the two characters.
