Georges (Jean Dujardin) is an ordinary man who buys a fur coat and discovers it changes how others perceive him. Wearing the coat, he gains uncanny confidence and begins to shape his life around this odd symbol. As his fixation deepens, social norms fray and a cascade of surreal incidents pushes him toward a ridiculous, sometimes dangerous pursuit of validation. Quentin Dupieux directs with dry wit, deadpan mood, and a playful, unsettling take on identity and desire.
