Defiance is a 2008 war film directed by Edward Zwick. It is based on the true story of the Bielski partisans, a group of Jewish brothers who escaped Nazi-occupied Poland and established a community in the forests of Belarus to fight against the German forces. The film follows their struggle for survival and their efforts to protect and save other Jews during World War II.
