Born in Chongqing, China, and raised in Toronto, Canada, she is a talented film director and animator known for her work with Pixar. She gained recognition for her Academy Award-winning short film "Bao" (2018), becoming the first woman to direct a Pixar short. Her directorial debut feature film, "Turning Red" (2022), received critical acclaim for its unique storytelling and cultural representation. She studied animation at the Sheridan College and joined Pixar as an intern in 2011.
