Born in 1970 in Bangkok, he is a renowned Thai filmmaker and artist known for his unique narrative style and exploration of memory, spirituality, and dreams. He studied architecture before pursuing a master's degree in filmmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His films, often set in rural Thailand, are celebrated for their surreal and meditative qualities. Major works include "Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives," which won the Palme d'Or at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
