Initially joining his brothers on stage, he was known for playing the straight man in their films. Appearing in five Marx Brothers movies from 1929 to 1933, he often portrayed the handsome, romantic lead. After leaving the group, he became a successful businessman, founding a company that engineered innovative clamps used in WWII. He passed away on November 30, 1979, in California.
