Born in London, he is a British actor known for his work in film, television, and theater. He is the son of actors Timothy West and Prunella Scales. Educated at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, he began his career on stage before transitioning to film and TV. Notable film roles include "Howard's End" and "Darkest Hour." He has also lent his voice to numerous audiobooks and documentaries. In addition to acting, he has directed theater productions and is an associate artist of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
