Born in 1979 in Palazzo Adriano, Italy, he gained international fame as a child actor for his role as Toto in the acclaimed film "Cinema Paradiso" (1988). His performance as the young cinephile won hearts worldwide, earning him several awards, including a BAFTA for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
