Born in 1919, she was a British actress known for her striking roles in mid-20th-century cinema. She gained fame for her performance as the villainous Nyah in "Devil Girl from Mars" (1954) and appeared in "Quo Vadis" (1951) as Poppaea. Her career spanned stage and screen, with a presence on television as well. Educated at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, she brought a commanding presence to her roles. She retired from acting in the 1960s and passed away in 2014.
