Born on June 2, 1979, in Rio de Janeiro, she moved to New York at age 10. She attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and later graduated from the Juilliard School. Her breakout role came as Inara Serra in "Firefly" (2002-2003). She gained further recognition for her performances in "V" (2009-2011), "Homeland" (2011-2013), and as Vanessa Carlysle in the "Deadpool" films. Known for her versatile acting, she has garnered several award nominations in her career.
