Born in Philadelphia and raised in South Jersey, she graduated from Rosemont College with a degree in political science. Her breakout role came in the 1985 film "Vision Quest," but she is best known for her performance in "The Last Seduction" (1994), which earned her critical acclaim and several awards. Known for her sultry, complex characters, she also appeared in "Men in Black" (1997) and "Dogma" (1999). Her career slowed in the 2000s, and she has since kept a low profile.
