John Houseman
An acclaimed actor and producer, he was born on September 22, 1902, in Romania and later became a U.S. citizen. He co-founded the Mercury Theatre with Orson Welles and produced the infamous "War of the Worlds" broadcast. Transitioning to film, he won an Academy Award for his role as Professor Kingsfield in "The Paper Chase." Known for his distinctive voice and commanding presence, he also contributed significantly to theatrical arts and education, co-founding the Juilliard School's drama division.
