Born in 1913 in California, she was an American actress best known for her role in the classic film "Citizen Kane" (1941), where she played Susan Alexander Kane. Her career began in the late 1930s with minor roles, but her performance in "Citizen Kane" brought her critical acclaim. Unfortunately, her career was hindered by political blacklisting during the McCarthy era. Despite a promising start, she struggled in Hollywood thereafter and eventually left acting. She passed away in 1971.
